Floyd's Original Glass & Gifts
Custom Art Works
It is recommended that you contact us via email at: FOGGLLC@hotmail.com prior to placing your order. We want to work with you as you make your stained glass art purchase. Unless noted otherwise, every catalog item shown on this site is a custom design, based on our own original art drawings, sketches, and color selections. For a custom commissioned design, we can work with your verbal description, your sketches, your photos, your drawings, our sketches and drawings of your concept. This will require some correspondence between us, either by email or snailmail. Once we have reached agreement on the design of the piece, and its size, we will quote you our price. Our quote will also provide the shipping charge for the order, and any tax that must be applied.
Examples of Custom Designs:
1) This example illustrates a design pattern that was developed from a customer supplied photograph. The pattern is stored in the F.O.G.G. computer, and is easily scaled in size to accommodate SunCatcher, Lamp Shade, or even Window product applications.
Since completion of the Custom Commission, we have introduced the design into our SunCatcher products as Part Number s-144.
2) Do you own a Lava Lamp? Did you at one time in your life think that this was the "coolest" possession you ever owned? Do you now think that it is one of the ugliest objects in your home, but you are still attached to it sentimentally? Well, convert it to an unusual custom stained glass art object. For example, we converted ours into a birdhouse:
Now we have a beautiful conversation piece that still lights up! Send us your idea for your Lava Lamp. We'll help you make it into something of which you can once again be proud!
3) This project was called "Happy", based on the customer's supplied photo:
The second image is the computer line drawing used to define the major glass piece solder intersections and their color selection. The final artwork was scaled for a 5"W x 6"H SunCatcher. Cost of this commission was $40.00 .
4) Our customer wanted an "E.T." themed window with a unique frame. Our solution was the memorable "flying bicycle" scene as shown on a circa 1982 television screen. This frame has both vhf and uhf channel control knobs and is done in authentic plastic. In fact it is actually the front of the chasis of a 1982 television set.
In this configuration, Part Number w-038fr, Price: $300.00, is suitable for wall hanging.
Follow this link to the unframed window w-038.
5) Similar to the above product, but with a "Star Wars" theme and back lit via the Television frame's ON/OFF switch. It is suitable for wall hanging. Part Number w-039fr, Price: $350.00.
Follow this link to the unframed window w-039.
6) Livonia, MI. Pizza Shop logo wiindow to hang at their front window.
7) The owners of an older, three story, "Dutch" colonial styled home in Plymouth, MI. desired a makeover of their entranceway door. The door was an unusual size, 44" wide. The remake consisited of removing the two center wood panels and replacing with "traditional flower" patterned stained glass windows, removing the four original windows along the top of the door and replacing them with matching "traditional flower" patterned stained glass windows. Additionally, stained glass windows above the entranceway (not shown) were replaced by "traditional flower" patterned windows.
Follow these links for more detailed images of these windows: w-047, w-048, w-049 .
8) The owners of this home had an unusually shaped window in their Dining Room. This custom Bevel Glass treatment matches the home's adjacent Entrance Door and really enhances the view from the Dining Room.
9) Only a Stained Glass Artist would create a Stained Glass for his garage! Shown below is the prettiest garage window in Garden City, Michigan. It is 2.5 feet W x 3.0feet H. It is priceless.
